OUR JANUARY FIRST DEGREE IN
HONOR of POPE BENEDICT ADDED TEN MEN: Dave Coyle, Greg Gillis, Matt Haag, Eric
Hayko, Perry Heiser, Tim Kiefer, Seamus Murphy, Dan Piazza, Ross Tillman, and Bob
Varebrook. We had a great turnout for our meeting with over 50 members attending.
Please continue inviting your friends to join our council.

OUR SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO
THE families of departed brother Knights Erv Acker, Gary Hunt and John Andrewjeski.
We will deeply miss these fine men.

|
|
KNIGHT OF THE MONTH is BOB ZELLNER
who has been a KC since 1963. He is married to Carolyn. Bob serves as our financial
secretary. This involves extensive management of our financial and other records.
For the 2007 Waunafest, he served on the committee that provided oversight for the
money collection in the food court. Bob is involved in many of our events and is
always willing to offer help. Congratulations Bob Z!!

KC POSTER, FREE THROW AND KNOWLEDGE
CONTESTS have been held and the winners were recognized at our pancake breakfast.
Congratulations to all the winners. Names are posted in our chambers. Thank you
to Neal Burkle & Steve Geishirt for leading these events. These men and their helpers,
Chuck Frederick, Mark Roelke, Lee Kobza and Don Statz also assisted at the district
free throw competition.

ROLLER SKATING: The last
event is February 8, 6:30 8:30 PM. Ron Gundrum and his wife Kathy have done a
great job! Thanks to everyone who helped.
|
|
|
LIFE SAVERS FOR LIFE was
held January 19 & 20 as a reminder of Right to Life on the anniversary of the Supreme
Court's Roe v. Wade decision. Parishioners at St. John and St. Mary of the Lake
generously donated nearly $400 which we will again contribute to the Elizabeth
House. Thanks go to Tom Dorn and those who volunteered after the Masses.

KC DUES NOTICE. If anyone
hasn't sent dues, help us save postage! Please forward $25 to Bob Zellner along
with $3.65 PKD. So far, PKD total is $802 with many generous donations. Thanks!

OUR ST. JOHN PANCAKE BREAKFAST
was another huge success. 550+ enjoyed breakfast courtesy of hard working Knights.
Thanks to everyone who helped Frank Kosmach and Dick Marshall make this happen.

HOLDAY RAFFLE drawing was
held January 24th, $5000.00 in prizes. The Grand Prize winner is Chuck Frederick,
1ST Bob Niesen, 2ND Ron Statz, 3RD Patti Struebing, and 4th to Brian Watzke. In
addition, there are fifty $50 winners, and forty $25 winners. The complete list
of winners is in the school office, parish office and is posted in the chambers.
Congratulations to the winners and THANKS AGAIN TO ALL who participated in this
raffle which benefits the Home and School Association and the KCs! Special
thanks to Mike Siehoff, Chair.

THE STATEWIDE KC CHARITY RAFFLE
winner will be picked April 26. If you need more tickets, contact Paul O. Endres.
Proceeds can only be used to assist individuals who have suffered loss. Total prize
money is $135,000. There is also a second chance drawing of tickets sold by our
council with four winners of $25 each. For each ticket we sell, $2.00 is returned
to our council for more good works.
