CONGRATULATIONS TO KNIGHT OF THE MONTH STEVE GEISHIRT! Steve leads our poster
and knowledge contests. In addition, he is a member of the Men's Choir, teaches faith
formation and is a member of the KC Bible Study Group.
|
|
|
JANUARY FAMILY OF THE MONTH: Jeff and Ann Knier family. Jeff and Ann are very
active at St. John Parish with their two children; Olivia, age 15, and Jack, age 10.
Ann is a member of the Women of Grace Study group and volunteers for various parish
events. Jeff has been involved with many parish activities over the years, including
the Parish Council, and has sung in the choir for about three years. In addition,
Jeff attends the KC Saturday morning Bible Study group. This level of commitment
reflects the Knier family's faith and support of the St. John parish community and
for this we sincerely congratulate and thank you!

CONGRATULATIONS to Ziggy and Maggie Pietranik, proud parents of a Nicholas,
born December 5, St. Nick Eve!
|
|
|
OUR SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED to the family of Joe Haag who passed away January 9th.
Our brother Knights were honorary pall bearers and Vince Endres lead the Rosary. We
dedicated our recent First Degree to Joe.

|
|
FREE THROW CONTEST was held January 4th at St. John's gym. We had 25
participants. Neal Burkle organized the event. Thank you to Neal and all
those who helped.
|
|
HOLY FATHER'S PRAYER INTENTIONS
General: That the Pastors of the Church may always be docile to the action of
the Holy Spirit in their teaching and in their service to God's people.
Mission: That the Church in Africa may find adequate ways and means to promote
reconciliation, justice and peace efficaciously, according to the indications of the
Synod of the Bishops' Special Assembly for Africa.

CHARITY RAFFLE TICKETS Three tickets are attached to this newsletter - $5 each.
The Charity Raffle is a Statewide KC raffle, with winners picked April 25th. Proceeds
can only be used to assist individuals who have suffered loss. Total prize money is
$135,000. 1st place - $50,000 / 2nd place – 2009 Prius / 3rd place FLHX Harley Street
Glide or $15,000 plus many more prizes. There is also a second chance drawing of tickets
sold by our council with four winners of $25 each. Please fill out the stubs with your
payment and 1) Place them in the collection basket at Mass, 2) Drop them off at Neil's
Liquor, or 3) Mail them to KC's, PO Box 322, Waunakee, WI. Thanks to Paul Endres, chair.

THE ANTI-FREEDOM OF CHOICE ACT postcard campaign was held January 24th and
25th at St. John's. Our council volunteered time after the Masses to assist. Over
700 postcards were mailed to our elected officials expressing disapproval of this
FOCA legislation.
|
|
|
ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST – February 8 at St. John's School cafeteria. This
event requires many helpers. The company is the best and the food can't be beat!
