THE 92nd ANNUAL STATE BOWLING
TOURNAMENT is off to a fantastic start! The opening ceremony started at our
village community center, Saturday, February 16. Marshall Frey emceed the event.
State KC officials were present along with Fr. Eric and Waunakee Village President
John Laubmeier. After enjoying a lunch catered by Dennis Puccetti, the group moved
to the Waun-A-Bowl. State Deputy Robert Abb rolled the first ball and we were up
and running! Our council had six teams this first weekend. So many Knights are stepping-up
to volunteer their time and talent. It is a sign of council strength and commitment
that this tournament is being hosted by our council. It is not too late to get involved.
We still need your help. Call Jim Elvekrog to sign-up.

THE MEN OF CHRIST CONFERENCE
was held Saturday, February 23. Nine of our brothers were part of a 13 member group
from St. John's. Three fathers included their sons – what a tremendous example of
living the Faith! There were over 3500 men in attendance including 75 priests. Our
very own Fr. Eric was present as well. Jeff Knier gave the following summary: "Father
Phillip Chavez's talk made a lot of references to the fact that it is important
for men to get together on a frequent basis as a band of brothers. A quote that
stuck with me was, 'In his platoon, a man can encounter other men who understand
his needs and support him, be sustained in his faith, find mentors who can guide
him and meet other men that he can reach out to. In this way a man regains his security,
feels inspired, recovers his identity and realizes the call of Christ to him.' In
a lot of ways this is similar to the experiences many of us achieve by being involved
in the Knights of Columbus." Jeff, thank you for sharing this reflection.
