Newsletter for May 2009

NEXT MEETING is Wednesday, May 20, 7 PM. For June, July and August, our meetings will start at 8PM, allowing everyone a little more time to get their summer chores done before the meeting!

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE MEMBERSHIP SURVEY. We need to know your interests. In addition, the officer group would like to hear your suggestions for new programs or any other ideas to improve our council. Please return the surveys at a council meeting, P.O. Box 322, or in the KC box located at the Church Narthex kitchenette counter.

OUR SYMPATHY GOES TO Rick Maier and Sam Wagner whose mothers recently died. Our prayers are with you.

KNIGHT OF THE MONTH is Jerry Maly. Jerry has been an active member of our council since 1993 and helps us with many projects. He is also the Grand Knight's gardening mentor! Thank you Jerry and congratulations!

WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST MEMBERS: Carl Nachreiner, Tim Kunz and Tom Foster (L-R). These men joined our council April 19th under the direction of a fantastic degree team lead by John Dremsa. New Members

OUR COUNCIL HOSTED SECOND AND THIRD DEGREES Saturday May 2. 42 men advanced through the degrees in honor of our pastor, Msgr. James Gunn. Rick Raemisch, Ray Hill, Chuck Frederick, Dennis Hampton and Pete Matiash formed the core team that took care of all of the details. Thanks to them and all the other Knights who helped throughout the day. Congratulations to the 14 candidates from our council.

CHARITY RAFFLE – We sold 517 tickets. Winners are posted in our meeting room. Thanks to everyone who supported the raffle. Paul Endres was our lead. Good job Paul!

RECENT DONATIONS – $500.00 Waunakee Scholarship Fund, $1,150 PKD for Catholic Education and $300.00 to sponsor a Waunakee Little League team.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TOOTSIE ROLL DRIVE was held May 1-3. So many council members share their time to help people who have disabilities. Proceeds will go to the Central Wisconsin Center, Family Support and Resource Center and Birth to 3. Thank you Jim Bardenwerper and Fred Riederer for making all the calls and organizing the event!

THE KC MEN'S CHOIR has been very well received. So well that we are going to have the opportunity to lead the music at Mass three or four times a year! We will keep the music simple and the time commitment low. We have produced a substantial, prayerful sound, and that is all we are looking for. Our next Mass is Saturday May 16th at 8pm. Please look for an email from Paul Wiesler with more details.
