Newsletter for October 2007

NEXT MEETING DATE is October 17th – starting at 7 PM. If you haven't attended for awhile, you might want to see what you've been missing!

FOUR NEW FIRST DEGREE MEMBERS have made a commitment to the KC's, their parish, and their community: Chris Ziegler, Don Statz, Roman Lazowski and Scott Nerat. We also welcome Shane McDonald and Don Olsen who transferred into our council.

OUR SYMPATHY is extended to Keith Laufenberg. Keith's mother, Alberta, died in September. Keith, you have our prayers.

KC's HELP at ST JOHN CEMETERY – On September 22, Rick Maier, Dean Winters, Ed Gilkes, Dan Meyer and Jim Elvekrog straightened markers and did yard work to help keep this sacred place beautiful. Thank you gentlemen and the F.H. Raemisch Company for donating stone!

KC FAMILY PICNIC was held Sunday, September 23. Great food and fellowship! Special thanks to Frank Kosmach and James Shrader for chairing this event; thanks to Chuck Frederick and Rick Maier for assisting.

PUNT PASS & KICK This year Neal Burkle organized the event. We had 25 participants. Congratulations to those who advanced to the Diocesan level in Princeton, October 6. Helpers included Joe Williams, Chuck Frederick, Frank Kosmach and Don Statz.

WHAT ABOUT KC SOFTBALL? Manager Jim Kluck reports another successful year with 100% improvement in the win column!! The team would like to thank all the fans who cheered them on. Players are needed for next year. If you are over 35, contact Jim (before the draft).

OUR GOLF OUTING was at Sil's on September 9. Thanks to Bernie Cleary for getting everything set-up. The question, Did Denny's boys out drive him?

Traveling Chalice Program Fr. Eric is asking for our support for Vocations. Each week a family will volunteer / be scheduled to take home a chalice and paten that is used for Mass. Special prayers will be included so that prayers are offered for priestly and religious vocations. This program has been successful in many other parishes. You can help by praying for vocations and contributing financially toward the purchase of the chalice and paten. The next priest ordained from our parish will receive the chalice and paten as a gift – a true sign of solidarity between our parish and religious life! Please direct your interest to any of the officers or Fr. Eric. Thank you!
