Newsletter for November 2007

NEXT MEETING DATE is NOVEMBER 21st – STARTING at 7 PM. Make plans to attend and share time with your brother Knights!

CHRIS HEIMERAL, DIRECTOR of the FAMILY SUPPORT AND RESOURCE CENTER, spoke at our October meeting. A portion of our Tootsie Roll proceeds were given to this organization with a mission of "making it possible for children and youth with disabilities in Dane County to live at home with their families as valued and participating members of the community." Chris and brother Knights shared poignant stories about how they loved and cared for their children and community members with disabilities. I felt the Spirit among us.

KNIGHT OF THE MONTH is Earl Miller. Earl helps organize the annual retreat and serves as our inside guard. Over the years, he has helped with many KC events such as tootsie rolls, breakfasts and Waunafest. He has been in our council since 1979 and is a military veteran. Earl and his wife Jean have four children and three grand children. Congratulations Earl!

MEN'S RETREAT AT MONTE ALVERNO in APPLETON was the weekend of October 19-21. Six of our members and one guest participated. The theme was "Rekindle the Fire: Light for a Changed World." This was a great opportunity to listen to excellent presentations, pray, relax and get closer to God. Make a note on your 2008 calendar to join us.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE PRAYER VIGIL to end abortion was held September 26 to November 4. Thanks to the Teeter family for representing our council. Thanks to others who supported the event in other ways.
